SEO Outreach Manager (REMOTE)

WHY YOU’LL LOVE SHOWCASE IDX:

We Put Customers First. Team Over Self. Outcomes Over Activity. Bias Towards Action. Improve Lives.

These are some of the values we hold. They’re more than words on our “about us” page. This is what you’ll see in our culture and what we strive for in ourselves.

We are a leader in home search, consumer engagement, and lead generation, enabling thousands of real estate professionals across 100+ brokerages and teams to harness the full marketing potential of modern marketing. Our consumer-facing tools were used by 12,000,000+ consumers in the last year for 30 million minutes – that’s like watching Avengers Endgame 282,625 times.

In August 2020, we were acquired by eXp World Holdings (Nasdaq: EXPI), and we will continue to operate as an independent company. For our sister company, eXp Realty, we will be developing a national and international search portal product, while maintaining the growth of our existing business.

This is a rare opportunity to join a fully-remote/distributed team at the beginning of a new mission, as we look to redefine how people find and buy homes on a national and eventually international scale. We are rethinking today’s generic home search experience and creating a set of next-generation tools that will help millions of people around the world find and buy their next home.

It’s important to us that work is as enjoyable and provides opportunities for individual growth. We like making well-reasoned decisions and making them quickly. We don’t particularly like too many meetings, but we love working together to figure things out. We’re laid back with each other, don’t take ourselves too seriously, and laugh (probably more than we should), but we always focus on staying close to our customers and adding value to their daily lives.

Our team is made up of experienced, talented people who see opportunities where others may not. We understand that innovation comes from experience, experimentation, iteration, taking smart risks, and rejecting the idea that the status quo is the only or best way to solve a problem. You’ll be challenged by big ideas, and have the opportunity to influence a product that truly impacts one of the biggest decisions in 100s of millions of people’s lives in very real ways.

We believe that delivering value outweighs how many hours you work or where you work. We provide a flexible work schedule, generous vacation, a relaxed work environment, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Amazing work/life balance – sane & flexible work schedule, generous vacation.
  • Work on interesting customer and product challenges in an environment that encourages creativity, fun, and the use of new tools to deliver the best results.
  • Have the creative freedom for learning, experimenting, and responsible risk-taking in a startup-like environment.
  • Work closely with a small, talented team with a proven track record.
  • Be a central part of a customer success team that helps our clients grow their businesses and positively impact their clients.
  • Contribute to a team culture that attracts and retains the absolute best people through a motivating and rewarding environment. You will help hire, mentor, and motivate an outstanding customer success team.
  • Support public-facing products that customers actually pay for and love.
  • Have your work be seen and used by millions of people.
  • Spend your day looking for ways to make customers successful, not simply solving problems.
  • Great benefits like Health Insurance and flexible vacation scheduling.

Why Moms Are The Best

The title of this blog may seem silly to you. After all, don’t we ALL know why moms are amazing?

The short answer is: YES! A big, resounding yes.

But it never hurts to remind folks just why moms are so awesome — especially with Mother’s Day quickly approaching. I sat down with my team and asked them about their own mothers, and I decided to share one of our newest team member’s stories; her name is Melissa.

Grandma’s Story

This story starts with Melissa’s grandmother. Born into a hardworking family with a wonderful mother of her own, she grew to be a strong and resilient person. Grandma loved school and learning, but grew up in a time where women did not attend college. Later in life, she revealed that her one regret was that she never received a Bachelor’s Degree.

But, that did not stop her. She and her husband started their own business, bringing in the family to help. The business grew to be successful, and when the time came, grandma passed on her business to her daughter (Melissa’s mom).

Mom’s Story

Raising a family of her own, Melissa’s mom took on the responsibility of running a business too. She was later diagnosed with breast cancer. Still, she ran her business, raised her daughter, and made sure to attend every single play, dance recital, school event, etc.! All this, and her mom even ran a farm on top of it!

Mom beat her cancer. She successfully ran the family business. Her daughter grew up alongside the business…and some chickens on the farm!

Melissa’s Story

Melissa spent her childhood at the family business (in fact, she says she spent more time at the business than she did at home, as you working moms can probably understand!). She had two wonderful, strong female role models.

Growing up in a family where women were empowered to start their own companies, Melissa set out on her own. She worked hard, and building up her own client base, she became part of the HireMyMom team. She saw the job listing we had available and knew it was a perfect fit. Her family had wonderful support in their business endeavors, and she wanted to give back that same support to other moms working on their own career journeys.

While she spread her wings, she still brought her own style back to the family business, working with us here at HireMyMom in the process. Three generations worked together. Sometimes, maybe, they worked a little too closely, getting on each other’s nerves! But it was an experience they wouldn’t trade for the world, getting to spend each day together.

Sadly, Melissa lost her grandmother a year ago, just before Mother’s Day. Remembering her grandmother’s lifelong regret of not finishing college, Melissa worked with her family to contact a nearby college to get an honorary degree from them, just before her grandmother passed away.

Melissa told me that she doesn’t want to brag, but that might have been the best gift she’s ever given (that, or the puppy she surprised her mom with four years ago on Mother’s Day)! Her grandmother proudly showed off her degree to everyone that would listen. She told them two things: she graduated college, and her family helped her get her degree.

Today

This Mother’s Day looks very different for Melissa. It’s truly the first one her family will be celebrating without her grandmother. But, it’s a chance to reminisce about all the strong women that came before. Those that paved the way for where we are today.

The women who worked hard to raise their families, creating future generations. The women who ran businesses, despite missing the opportunity to go to college. The women who made sure that their kids came first, no matter what else was happening in their lives.

To all those wonderful moms out there, this one is for you.

We see you, working hard every day to support your family.

Surviving Summer: 4 Tips to Stay Productive

Do you remember what it was like, waking up on the first day of summer as a kid?

The morning air was cool with a hint of the heat to come. Dew covered the grass as morning doves cooed. You were excited; excited to feel the grass on your bare feet, or play your favorite video game, or catch up with friends, or maybe even go on a big family vacation.

You felt free.

As adults, the first day of summer looks a little different. We know you’re excited to spend time with your kiddos, but there’s some apprehension because you are working from home.

How are you going to balance working with creating a summer of freedom and fun for your kids?

After working from home for several years, and with several different aged kids, we have some experience in this area. Here are our four favorite tips on how to have a productive summer while your children are home on summer break.

#1 Schedule, schedule, schedule

The number one thing we recommend is to create a schedule for your summer. Map out your vacations, meetings, and even time that you need to set aside for yourself. Let’s be honest, there are so many distractions without kids, that summertime can seem daunting.

Writing everything down on a calendar will help you and your family. In fact, you should also make a summer calendar for your kids too. Block out times when you know they will be at a friend’s house, or when they like to play outside.

If your kiddo goes to a summer camp in the morning, schedule it! If you have a really important meeting you can’t miss, schedule it! Write it all down before the summer starts, but also remember that the best laid plans will encounter problems.

Plan on revisiting your schedule once per week. Sunday nights are a great time to evaluate the coming week.

Most importantly of all, when creating your summer plan, make sure to include lots of flexibility because you never know what the day will bring!

#2 Beat the heat

You’ve heard of the afternoon slump, but did you know a summer slump exists too? The heat tends to make people lethargic, and if you already find yourself experiencing afternoon slumps no matter the season, then summer will make you even more tired.

So, beat the heat! When you’re planning activities or creating your summer schedule, keep in mind what times of day you work best and what times of day you do not.

We recommend comparing that with your child’s sleep schedules.

If you work best in the morning and your child sleeps in, plan on working in the morning so you can spend afternoons playing (or napping together!). Have a productive summer switching your normal 9-5 schedule around.

#3 On the next episode of Kid Swap

Remember that show, Wife Swap? While it produced some interesting characters, it also gave moms across the U.S. a great idea: let’s swap kids.

Seriously, it’s that simple. On days when you really need to be productive working from home during summer, ask your neighbors to watch the kids. Then, you can watch their kids when they need it.

Maybe even plan play dates with your child’s friends so that one week the kids go to your house, and the next they are at their friend’s house. As part of your summer calendar for your kids, they are sure to love it, and you will too when you get some time to yourself to power through work.

#4 Once upon a time at the library

Sure, you’re used to home based work, but what about working at the library? Find your nearest library, and check out what is available. Some libraries offer fun summer programs with different activities. Others have rooms you can rent to work out of while your children read books. No matter what, your local library has a kid’s section that can be fun for them to work on puzzles, read books, and play while you get access to wifi and a quiet location.

When you have a stay at home mom job, summer might seem extra stressful when you think about balancing productivity with spending time with your kids. We are here to say that you can do it, and have fun in the process.

There are lots of great resources available out there to help you create a schedule, track your productivity, swap kids, and even spend some time out of the house at the local library.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and remember that summers aren’t about huge vacations. Your kids will thank you for the small things like a surprise popsicle from an ice cream cart on an extra hot day, or spending time at their friend’s house building blanket forts.

As a kid, summer is all about freedom and free time. As an adult, that changes a bit, but that does not mean the summer has to be less fun for you! Put these four tips to use on how to have a productive summer, and you will find yourself balancing work and fun with your children just fine!

Do you have another tip you use to stay productive when kids are home for summer break? Let us know about it!
